چکیده

Abstract Background Pedicled perforator flaps have become a contemporary alternative to muscle for soft tissue reconstruction as they reduced donor site morbidity, avoid the need microsurgical transfer, and are versatile reliable. The anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap was first introduced free has since gained popularity pedicled flap. Here we review our experience using ALT regional reconstruction. Methods We retrospectively reviewed all patients who underwent loco-regional between March 2014 October 2018, with goal of identifying potential applications flaps. following aspects each case were reviewed: patient demographics, defect location size, comorbidities such previous radiotherapy, details, clinical follow-up, postoperative complications. Results Our analysis demonstrates versatility in variety indications successfully cover large abdominal, perineal, genital defects. Depending on patient’s needs achieve more bulk or stability reconstruction, individually tailored underlying fascia. average follow-up 7 months (range: 3–13 months). Conclusions valuable reconstructive option defects located within pedicle’s range, from lower abdomen perianal region. These usually raised non-irradiated sufficient covering extensive Three-dimensional allows anatomical function minor sites. Level evidence: IV, therapeutic study.

Versatility of Anterolateral Thigh Perforator Flap as a Pedicled Flap

The pedicled anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap based on septocutanous or musculocutanous perforators of the lateral circumflex femoral system is a reliable flap. The use of ALT flap as a pedicled flap is relatively unpopular if compared with its use as a free flap. The flap can be raised as a fasciocutaneous or muscle flap or myocutaneous flap. The pedicled flap has got a lengthy pedicle with a li...

Reconstruction of the Lower Abdominal Region Using Bilateral Pedicled Anterolateral Thigh Flaps Combined With Poly-Surgical Mesh

The en-bloc resection of neoplasms on the abdominal wall often causes extensive defects that are difficult to manage. The anterolateral thigh (ALT) flap is a widely used flap in reconstructive surgery of defects. In this article, we present a case using bilateral pedicle anterolateral thigh flaps combined with a surgical polymesh to repair a large defect (22 cm × 18 cm) caused by dissection of ...
